五輪というスポーツムーブメントについて、今回は考えたい。
古代オリンピック（こだいオリンピック、英: Ancient Olympic Games）は、古代ギリシアのエーリス地方、オリュンピアで4年に1回行われた当時最大級の競技会であり、祭典である。ギリシア語ではオリュンピア大祭、オリュンピア祭典競技とも呼ぶ。オリュンピアにはエーリスの祭神・ゼウスの神殿があった。本競技会・祭典は紀元前9世紀から紀元後4世紀にかけて行われたもので、ギリシア四大大会（後述）のひとつである。
最盛期にはギリシア世界各地から選手が参加した。ギリシア人はこれを格別に神聖視し、大会の期間およびそれに先立つ移動の期間、合計3ヶ月ほどをオリュンピア祭のための休戦期間に挙げた。またギリシア語資料では広くオリュンピア祭の回数、すなわちオリンピアードをもって年を数えることが行われる。

そのことが起源となり、近代五輪となっているわけだ。
近代五輪の父というべき人にフランス人の教育者であるクーベルタン男爵ピエール・ド・フレディ（フランス語: Pierre de Frédy, baron de Coubertin, 1863年1月1日 - 1937年9月2日）がいる。「自己を知る、自己を律する、自己に打ち克つ、これこそがアスリートの義務であり、最も大切なことである」という名言を残している。
その彼がもし、今の五輪を見たら嘆くこと間違いないであろう。本来の五輪はアマチュアリズムを基本とし、古代の平和の祭典の復興を目指したものだった。だが、二度の世界大戦や、ミュンヘン大会におけるテロ事件、冷戦下でのアフガニスタン戦争に伴う東西のボイコット合戦など、時々の国際政治の影響は大きい。特にヒトラー政権下による1936年のベルリン大会は、五輪そのものが利用された色彩が強く、聖火リレーのルートを後日ドイツ国防軍がそのまま逆進したとされたり、ナチズムに対する批判をかわすために一時的にユダヤ人政策を緩和したりするなど、政治が大きく陰を落としたものとなっている。
これが日本でも政治利用された。長野体育祭である。これで凄まじいまでの再開発が行われ、特に利権が絡んでいた西武鉄道グループ(その当時はJOC会長とやらをやっていた堤義明の独裁状態にあった)に利権が集中し、長野新幹線の為に地元住民が不便な目に合う羽目になった。さらに北京体育祭では中国共産党の独裁体制のメンツの維持のために使われたのである。同じことはソチ体育祭でも言える。独裁者プーチンが侵略したコーカサス地方の統治というメンツの為に作り出した五輪なのである。
こんな状況の五輪で本当にいいのだろうか。もう、見直すべき時期に来ているのではないか。

when the he looks at the present Olympic Games, he is sad -- probably, it will be infallible.
The original Olympic Games aimed at revival of the festival of ancient peace on the basis of amateurism.
But, the influence of occasional international politics, such as a World War of 2 times and a boycott battle of the east and west accompanying the Afghanistan War under the terror attack in the Munich convention and a cold war, is great.
